Born on September 4, 2002, in Chevy Chase, Maryland, Bacon emerged as one of the most promising young backstrokers in the world during her teenage years. She gained national attention as a high school phenom at Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart before committing to swim collegiately at the University of Wisconsin.
Bacon's breakout moment came at the 2020 U.S. Olympic Trials (held in 2021), where at age 18, she qualified for the Tokyo Olympics in the 200-meter backstroke. Despite being one of the youngest members of Team USA's swim team, she made an immediate impact on the international stage, earning a silver medal as part of the 4x100-meter medley relay.
