David Guthrie Breaks TWO Master's World Records
A3 Performer David Guthrie set two Master's World Records last week at the LCM US Master's Nationals in Gresham, Oregon! David, who is no stranger to being at the top, walked away from nationals with three first place finishes, sweeping the breaststroke events for the Men 55-59 age group. David's first swim at the Mount Hood Community College Aquatic Center was the 100 breaststroke, where he finished first by more than five seconds. His final time was 1:08.23, slightly missing his own World Record of 1:07.97. Next David had the 50 breaststroke, where he finished first (again) in a World Record time of 30.65! The previous World Record was set by Walter Kusch (GER) in 2009 at 31.05. David capped off a phenomenal Master's Nationals with another first place finish and another World Record in the 200 breaststroke. David broke his own World Record, finishing in a final time of 2:30.63, nearly 14 seconds faster than the second place finisher! We are incredibly excited for and proud of David for his outstanding performances. He is a determined and inspiring man and we are honored to have him racing in A3 Performance.
