June 19, 2019 – A3 Performance is excited to announce the signing of Big Ten finalist, NCAA Qualifier, & two-time World University Games qualifier Vera Koprivova through 2020. After the most successful year in her swimming career this past season, Vera, a recent graduate from Rutgers University and a representative of the Czech Republic, will continue her training for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics under Rutgers’ Head Coach Jon Maccoll.

Born and raised in a small village in the Czech Republic, Vera took to swimming at a very early age. After high school, Vera was faced with an important decision, did she want to pursue her athletic career or an education? Determined to excel in both, Vera committed to attend Rutgers University to continue her swimming career and education.

During her time at Rutgers, Vera worked her way to two third-place finishes at the 2019 Big Ten Championships in the 100 and 200-yard Backstrokes. Vera also qualified for the 2019 NCAA Championships where she missed All-American honors by only one one-hundredth of a second. Vera also qualified to compete at her second World University Games this summer in Italy. Fueled by her most successful year yet, Vera is ready for the next level.

“This past year proved to me that there is so much more in me as a swimmer. I could not imagine saying goodbye to swimming knowing that I have not become the best swimmer I can be. I want to accomplish my childhood dream of swimming at the Olympics,” said Vera of her decision to continue training as a post-grad.
