Is NOVA the Right Racing Suit for You?
We understand that VICI, although a great suit, is not the right tech suit for every swimmer, which is why we developed NOVA – an elite racing suit designed on the fundamental principle that less is more.
It's championship season and it's time for you to get a racing suit. With so many options out there, it can be difficult to put all of the marketing aside and find out which is the right tech suit for you. With NOVA being around $100, it's an appealing option for many, especially parents, but is it the right suit for you? Read on and find out!
NOVA is for you if...
- You're new to competitive swimming – Athletics can get expensive quickly (that goes for any sport), and it's difficult to invest a lot of money into a sport that you're just starting out in. At the end of the season, when all of your teammates are suiting up and getting ready to swim fast, you shouldn't exclude yourself from the hype just because you're a newbie. NOVA is for you! It's a racing suit, but it's not an expensive investment. So, whether you decide that you want to fully commit to swimming or maybe that swimming isn't for you, you don't have to worry about wasted dollars. NOVA is compressive, it's water-repellent, and it gives swimmers that fast, ready-to-race feeling, without breaking the bank. Not to mention that NOVA is a great introductory racing suit for those who are new to the sport. **Plus, young girls who are new to the sport don't always like swimsuits with legs and NOVA has a great tank (leg-free) swimsuit that they'll feel comfortable and fast in! NOVA is great for newbies!
- You're a seasonal swimmer – Not every swimmer is a year-round swimmer. Some of us swim for fun during the high school season; some of us swim in the offseason of our primary sport; some of us are athletically-gifted and participate in swimming among a variety of other sports throughout the year, and some of us just don't want to make the year-round commitment. THAT'S OKAY! Much like swimmers who are new to the sport, seasonal swimmers don't necessarily want to make a significant investment into a racing suit that only gets used for one swim meet a year. NOVA is a great racing suit for seasonal swimmers because it is a quality racing suit for an affordable price. What a great concept!
- You're tight on cash – Elite technical racing suits are definitely a privilege that not everyone has access to. The ability to feel fast and race-ready should not be isolated to only those who can afford it, and that's why we created NOVA. Designed with great quality fabric and a few special features including water repellency, silicone grippers, and compression technology, NOVA will give you the confidence you deserve when you step up to the blocks. Get race-day confidence without breaking the bank. All of our NOVA styles are around $100, including our female knee-suit which is only $115!
- You're 12&Under – With the recent passing of the 12&Under tech suit ban in 2020, we understand that many parents are hesitant to invest a lot of money into tech suits for their swimmers. NOVA was developed with these parents and swimmers in mind. NOVA is constructed with sewn seams (versus bonded), making it legal for all USA Swimming 12&Unders to compete in. NOVA is a quality, fast, affordable suit that 12&Under swimmers can feel good about racing in all season long!
- You're built differently – Not all athletes are built the same, and that's why NOVA racing suits range from a size 18 to a size 38! Designed to fit a larger variety of bodies, NOVA provides quality compression on all different kinds of body types. Avoid the stress of trying to fit into a racing suit that was designed around elite athletes. Do you. Be you. You have what it takes to rise above the competition, so rise above with NOVA.
To sum it all up, NOVA comes at an extremely affordable price without skimping on quality! You won't be disappointed when you step up to the blocks on race day!

Darlys,
This suit does fit like a racing suit in that it is a compressive suit. It also sizes similar to a racing suit in that most swimmers typically size down one size from their training suit. With that being said, every racing suit and every swimmer is different. I encourage you to contact our Customer Service department for help with sizing. You can call them at 888-369-7946 or email them at info@a3performance.com.
I hope this information is helpful. If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Thank you,
Elle
